Dr. Karen Rosian is a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience. She received her Master of Arts in Psychology and her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Illinois, and she is licensed through PSYPACT to provide telehealth services in select states.

Dr. Rosian has honed her skillset working in a variety of settings over the course of her career, including psychosocial rehabilitation programs and intensive outpatient settings, eventually finding her passion working in a private practice.

While working in the rehabilitation and outpatient programs, Dr. Rosian developed her expertise in working with adults with chronic mental illness, as well as developmental and/or intellectual disabilities, including children and adults on the Autism Spectrum. It was here that her passion for working with those on the Autism Spectrum began and she has devoted herself to engaging in continued education to learn how to best help those impacted by Autism, including their families.

Dr. Rosian has a passion for working with high-energy children aiding them and their family to understand their needs and ensure they have the appropriate supports in place, both at home and in school settings. This includes working with children not only with ADHD, but also Autism Spectrum Disorder and other Neurodevelopmental Disorders. To provide the highest level of care, Dr. Rosian will work alongside other providers to ensure that treatment plans compliment one another and care is consistent across all settings.

Therapy is just one of the therapeutic services that Dr. Rosian provides to her clients. Dr. Rosian also conducts psychological assessments for children through adults, assessing for conditions including, though not limited to, ADHD, Autism, Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Learning Differences, and Personality functioning. Assessments may assist with diagnostic clarification to aid in treatment planning or to identify appropriate services and/or accommodations for students. As needed and depending on availability, Dr. Rosian is available to attend school meetings, such as IEP meetings or 504 meetings, to assist with obtaining school accommodations to meet the child’s needs.

Dr. Rosian is described by those she has worked with as “direct, but with a smile.” When working with clients, she strives to be as transparent as possible and considers the therapeutic relationship the most important element to creating change. Understanding where people are in their process and working to understand the world from their viewpoint is the way to create change in the room. She addresses the needs of the human condition including life transitions and stressors, behavioral issues related to executive function deficits and/or ADHD, mood and anxiety disorders, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, and sexual orientation and gender identity exploration providing LGBTQ+ affirmative care.

Dr. Rosian treats from a values-oriented approach and helps individuals work towards mindfully creating and living lives that are meaningful to them. To do so, we work together to make the specific changes needed and address the underlying thought or behavioral patterns that are no longer effective or relevant.

As a therapist, Dr. Rosian’s goal is to help others live the life they want, by finding (and doing!) what works best for them, in order to become the person they want to be.
