  • I provide initial and re-evaluations for Autism (some insurance companies require a re-evaluation every 2-3 years to continue to cover related services). Autism-specific assessments include clinical interview, administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale-Second Edition (ADOS-2), as well as additional questionnaires to assess presence of additional symptoms of Autism, such as the Autism Spectrum Rating Scale (ASRS), Gilliam Autism Rating Scale (GARS-3), and the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Rating Scale (VABS) to assess adaptive living skills and potential skill deficits.

As needed, I will also assess for other conditions that may mimic or coincide with Autism, such as Autism Pervasive Demand Avoidant Profile (PDA), ADHD, anxiety disorders, or sensory processing issues. (I do not diagnose Sensory Processing Disorder. I will screen for sensory processing issues and provide appropriate referrals.)

-Assessment includes a written report with review of assessment results, as well as diagnosis (if applicable), as well as any specific treatment recommendations that may be appropriate.

-Insurance companies will often require a formal evaluation and written report to authorize related services for Autism

  • Assessment of individual functioning across various facets of living, including screening for mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, learning disabilities, and late diagnosis of childhood disorders, such as adult diagnosis of Autism. Assessment may address differential diagnosis between mutually exclusive diagnoses, or verify a hypothesized diagnosis to identify appropriate treatment, including recommended or indicated therapeutic approaches and/or a pharmacologic treatment of a condition.

I do not prescribe medication. As needed, I will refer to a medical provider for medication management.

Assessment battery will depend on nature of the referral and the needs of the assessment
